Began work as an Architecture student building sports stadiums. During internship, they quickly moved me from redline Arch drawings to 3D. I worked in Architecture a little over a year and landed a contract to start right after graduation. The first job out of school was a contract building 3D furniture and office settings. Soon after arriving in LA I went to work on the film dungeons and dragons at Digital Firepower in Hollywood. Spent several years at Fearless Eye Animation in Kansas City after that. I worked on the side as a demo artist for Discreet the owner of 3DSMax at the time. I also wrote a Maya Fundamentals 5 book around this time. Later I Moved to Georgia to work on an animated film "Summer Camp"(unreleased flop). I moved on before the flop to create large-scale real-world terrains for Fats/Meggitt Training Systems. I was the Art director and now the Creative director there since 2008. I own and run Kungfujackrabbit studio in my spare time. I make lighting and shader products you can find here https://gumroad.com/kungfujackrabbit Currently I am the Art Manager at Volition. I manage the art department and really just love the people in this company. They are great!
I manage a team of 3D VFX artist who work in game engines and Video VFX. We train the Army and Marines in Marksmanship. I can actually say and feel good in doing something to keep more of our troops alive. My team has worked very hard to provide realistic training. We use Cryengine for so much for example previs videos and products. Its been a fun place to work and many great people have been thru around me here and within my charge. Ive enjoyed it.
